marketplace
The market square is the center of the city. On Saturdays there is a fruit and vegetable market on the market square.
The large-area fountain made of polished granite is striking, with the lively movement of water varying in many forms. The fountain has the function of a water feature and invites you to cool off on sunny days.
It should dominate the lively play of the water optically as well as light-supported and acoustically, i.e. water movements in many forms as nature produces and forms them. The accessible fountain has the function of a water play system. The town hall determines the space.
In May 2008, after a stopover on the square in front of St. Nicholas Church in Konz, the Constantine Foot was positioned on the market square between the 3.50 meter high columns that have adorned the market square next to the fountain since the early 1990s. The Constantine Foot is a replica and was made for the 2007 Constantine Exhibition in Trier. The original is in the Capitoline Museum in Rome.
