Könen Volunteer Fire Department
description
The Könen Volunteer Fire Department was founded on February 4, 1925 from a previously existing compulsory fire department. Its main task is to protect against dangers inside and outside the town.
She is also very involved in the active village life in Könen. She helps with road security during the carnival parade, sets up the maypole, secures the torchlight procession on St. Martin's Day, etc.
Since 2019, in addition to the volunteer fire department, there has been a youth fire department in which children between the ages of 10 and 16 are taught knowledge and the correct handling of the material. The group lessons take place every two weeks on Wednesdays between 6 and 8 p.m.
