Visit to the elevated tank in Wasserliesch
The action group "Lifelong learning, actively sharing knowledge" visited the elevated tank in Wasserliesch
On March 20, 2025, 40 interested members, divided into two groups, visited the raised tank in Wasserliesch to learn about the drinking water supply in the district. The drinking water supply, including in the Konz district, aims to provide residents with sufficient quantities of clean, hygienic water. The participants had many questions on this very interesting topic, all of which were answered to their complete satisfaction by the waterworks' service managers. The participants learned that before the water reaches the end user, it is constantly monitored and tested. The quality is specified by the Drinking Water Ordinance. It was very reassuring for the participants that the raised tank contains approximately 3 million liters of water, which comes exclusively from local wells. They received information about the supply areas, the Saar-Obermosel water supply, and water analyses. They also learned about the influence of water hardness on water bills and the necessity of carbonating our drinking water. Also interesting is the impact of the delivery of drinking water from the "Wasserversorgung Saar-Obermosel (WSO)" to Luxembourg on our water prices. The tour ended after two hours, with a wealth of new knowledge on a vital topic.
