Cattenom Nuclear Power Plant and Villa Borg
Excursion of the action group Lifelong Learning and Actively Passing on Knowledge
On July 17, 2024, the action group visited the Cattenom nuclear power plant and the Villa Borg in the border triangle of Germany, Luxembourg and France. When we arrived at the plant site, we were led into an auditorium and were given a two-hour lecture, supported by a presentation, which explained the origins, function and safety measures in this power plant. There was also the opportunity to ask questions.
After a short drive with an overview of the factory site, the official group photo was taken outside. This was followed by a drive to the next highlight, Villa Borg in Perl, where there was an opportunity to have some refreshments. The following tour through the former Roman residential complex was divided into two groups. We were given a lot of information about the highly developed way of life and culture of the time in a very entertaining way.
At around 6 p.m. we reached our starting point Konz again and a day with lots of interesting information was coming to an end.
