Action group "Lifelong learning, actively passing on knowledge" visited the BUGA in Mannheim

On July 18, 2023, the action group "Lifelong Learning, Actively Passing On Knowledge" organized an excursion to the Federal Horticultural Show in Mannheim. The BUGA 23 addresses topics relevant to the future, such as environmental and climate protection, sustainability, energy and food security.

The BUGA site stretches from Luisenpark to the former Spinelli military site. A cable car connects the two parks. Various future gardens representing the 17 UN sustainability goals could be seen on the Spinelli outdoor area. A wide variety of flower shows could be admired in the U-Halls. The Luisenpark, which was already part of the Federal Horticultural Show in 1975, forms the new center of the park. In small groups, many different impressions of art sculptures, a Chinese tea house, wonderfully landscaped water lily ponds, hydrangea gardens and many different themed gardens, but also in a zoo, were collected during a long walk. Despite the warm weather, there were many shady paths and places. Over a meal or a cool refreshment, the many different impressions were exchanged in a lively manner before the bus took the participants back to Konz in rest mode. Everyone agreed: "It was a beautiful day".
