textbook lending
Since the beginning of the 2010/11 school year, the Rhineland-Palatinate system of free learning materials in the form of learning material vouchers has been gradually replaced by the system of lending textbooks. At the beginning of the 2012/13 school year, the system for lending textbooks was also extended to elementary schools.
When borrowing textbooks, a distinction must be made between
- Free lending (freedom of learning materials)
linked to income limits. This replaces the issuing of vouchers for learning materials.
- paid lending (borrowing for a fee),
which is not tied to income limits, ie all parents can take part.
