T'arabach Quartet: From Baghdad to Bach

The city of Konz invites on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. to an extraordinary concert with the T'arabach Quartet. Under the title "From Baghdad to Bach," in the Concert Doctor Citizens' Hall (Wiltinger Straße 10-12, Konz) Oriental melodies with baroque sounds and original compositions create a unique listening experience.

The four musicians of the T'arabach Quartet take the audience on a musical journey that blurs the boundaries between different musical traditions in an exciting way. Saif Al-Khayyat, a master of the Arabic lute (oud), studied ancient Arabic music in Baghdad and has now lived in Germany for 20 years. Theo Van Der Poel (accordion) and Angela Simons (cello) come from the world of classical European music and, with their instrumentation, bring baroque elegance to the program. As a percussionist, Ahmad Abu Siam enriches the musical diversity and provides rhythmic depth. Together, they create a bridge between Arabic and European musical traditions through their extraordinary soundscape.

Tickets cost 15 euros (12 euros for pupils and students) and are available at all known ticket offices, subject to availability at the box office and via Ticket Regional available.
