Westenergie Climate Protection Prize for projects in Nittel and Wiltingen
Projects from two local communities in the Konz collective municipality were awarded the Westenergie Climate Protection Prize this year. In Nittel, the youth fire brigade's "Clean-Up Day" received a prize, and in Wiltingen, the Reblaus Choir's "Insect Life Tower" project received a prize. The winners can look forward to prize money of 500 euros. There was also a consolation prize for the Clean-Up Day in Wiltingen. The prizes were presented by the mayor of the Konz collective municipality, Joachim Weber, Westenergie regional manager Marco Felten and Westenergie municipal manager Christian Nathem in the presence of the respective local mayors, Peter Leo Hein and Reinhard Orth.
Every year, the Westenergie Climate Protection Prize looks for projects that benefit all residents of a municipality. A jury consisting of representatives from the municipality and Westenergie decides which projects will receive an award. They review all applications received in advance and evaluate them.
