Election helpers wanted for the VG Konz
On February 23, 2025 will be a new Bundestag Be an active part of democracy and become an election worker for postal and ballot voting!
A total of around 300 helpers are needed for the 27 polling stations in the Konz municipality and for counting the postal votes. In addition to the administrative staff and party members, the municipality is also counting on the support of its citizens.
The volunteers work in the polling station during the day on election day and determine the result together after 6 p.m. Anyone who is eligible to vote can do the voluntary work. This applies to all people who have German citizenship, are at least 18 years old and have had their main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least three months.
There are different functions:
assessors hand out the ballot papers at the polling station, ensure that voting only takes place in the voting booths provided and that the ballot papers are properly placed in the ballot boxes. For postal voting, the assessors help to check and approve the returned voting documents.
Secretaries enter the vote in the voters' register and fill out the minutes when the votes are counted.
Electoral officers manage the activities of the electoral board, distribute tasks and ensure order in the voting room.
For voluntary work, a so-called refreshment allowance is paid, which depends on the activity and commitment. Assistant members and secretaries receive 25 euros. Election officers receive 35 euros, as they have a particularly high workload and responsibility.
