Political Salon Konz on October 20, 2024
There has never been so much crisis: health crisis, economic crisis, migration crisis, the news is increasingly becoming war reporting, there is a general crisis of "government". Right-wing radicalism is spreading, the climate crisis is threatening us all... The omnipresent crisis is not without its effects on people's state of mind and attitudes, their courage and joy in life, their fears and insecurities. Some people seek contact with one another, talk to one another, agree to take joint action. Others isolate themselves, fall silent, resign themselves, suppress things. Loneliness and alienation have many causes and forms. For some time now there have been initiatives and projects at many levels and in many areas that are intended to counteract the spreading loneliness and the many forms of alienation. But what do these terms actually mean? Are they about more and something different than very personal matters? Is loneliness a consequence of isolation in an affluent society? Do loneliness and alienation result from the quantitative lack and qualitative deficits in meeting places? Who are the strangers and the lonely – just the others? And above all: How should the individual deal with this and what offers are there or should there be to at least alleviate loneliness and alienation? The Konz Political Salon wants to address all these questions in its next event on Sunday, 20.10.2024 under the topic "If you are lonely, it is your own fault? - Loneliness, strangeness, meeting places" Mr. Andreas Flämig, Coordinator of Social Spaces/Flood Relief, from Caritas Westeifel, was able to get the audience in the mood for this topic. The event will take place in the Konzer-Doktor-Bürgersaal in Wiltingerstraße in Konz and will begin as usual at 11 am. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to end the discussions in an informal setting with a glass of wine, juice or sparkling water.
The offer is supported by the Partnership for Democracy in the Konz municipality and funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program "Living Democracy!".
