LBM: Expansion work between Pellingen and Franzenheim
The LBM informs:
From Monday, November 18th, the expansion of state road 139 between Pellingen and Franzenheim will begin.
On the L 139, the existing bound and unbound superstructure layers will be removed, processed and reinstalled as reinforcement over a total length of around 1.7 km. New asphalt layers will then be applied. The drainage of the road will be reorganized. In some areas, the surface water will be collected via a new gutter system and fed into a drainage pipe, which will drain into two new rain retention basins. In addition, slope stabilization will be created using a back-anchored shotcrete shell.
Due to a lack of existing road width, the construction work must be carried out under full closure.
The diversion concept envisages separating the traffic flows and directing heavy traffic via Trier to the B 268. Car traffic will be directed via the K 45 Obersehr – K 46 Ollmuth to Pluwig. The diversion will be carried out in the opposite direction in a similar way.
Preparatory work for the supporting structure and clearing work are still ongoing this year.
The full closure will be lifted for the winter break from December 20th, so that traffic will once again be routed via the L 139. It has not yet been determined when the work will resume and will depend on the weather.
The LBM Trier is endeavouring to complete the project, weather permitting, probably by autumn 2025.
The costs of these renovation works for the L 139 amount to approximately €2.370 million and are borne by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The contractor is the Kohl company from Irrel.
For further information and details on the diversion route, please refer to the RLP Mobility Atlas at verkehr.rlp.de (Activate the redirect route in the side menu under “Settings”).
The LBM Trier is endeavouring to keep disruptions to a minimum and would like to thank the affected road users for their patience and understanding.
