“Let’s make a difference together!”

There is great interest in a new network for the diverse businesses in the Konz municipality. This was clearly demonstrated at the very well-attended launch event in the Roscheider Hof, to which Mayor Joachim Weber invited on behalf of the founding team of the new Konz trade and services association.

"With the new association, interests are pooled, ideas are implemented jointly and responsibility for actions that advance the companies is distributed across several shoulders," explained Mayor Weber in his welcoming speech and handed the microphone to the members of the founding team, who have worked hard to prepare the foundations for the association over the past few months.

The representatives of the well-known companies Volvo Construction Equipment, the Elenz Group, Linz Anlagenbau, the Holbach shoe store, the Cantzheim winery, the Sparkasse Trier and Volksbank Trier Eifel had not only drawn up a draft statute, but also a structure for efficient cooperation within the association. "Every commercial and service company in the Konz municipality should be able to see themselves in this association, be able to contribute their suggestions and feel represented by it," they stressed. "That is why there should be three different teams that deal with the topics that are relevant to them and drive the area forward." These are the teams: "Retail, Services, Health", "Crafts and Industry" and "Gastronomy, Viticulture, Tourism". Of course, overarching projects are planned and implemented together.

"We're in!" was the quick response from the audience. The first membership applications were submitted during the question and answer session, and more and more joined as the evening progressed. This is crucial, because only through the active participation of many companies can the association develop into a strong network for everyone and implement larger campaigns.

The countdown has begun! Interested companies and service providers still have the opportunity to register until Christmas at the email address wirtschaftsfoerderung@konz.de to register, request a membership application and send it back signed. On January 21, 2025, everyone is invited to a workshop at Volvo in Konz. There, everyone can share their ideas and suggestions in the teams and help plan the network's next steps.
