Anniversary: 65 years in public service
65 years in public service! The current arbitrator for the Konz district, Hans-Walter Schmitt, recently celebrated this anniversary. The 86-year-old was a teacher and has been working as an arbitrator for 40 years.
Such a long period of service is very unusual. The Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Alexander Schweitzer, thanked Schmitt for all his work with a certificate. The award was presented by the First Deputy Mayor of the Konz Administrative District, Guido Wacht, the Deputy Director of the Saarburg District Court, Claudia Butz, and the Deputy Mayor of the Trier-Saarburg District, Iris Molter-Abel. They congratulated and thanked Hans-Walter Schmitt personally in the Konz Town Hall.
