Digital Knowledge for Older People

The Internet offers many opportunities and possibilities to enrich and facilitate everyday life – whether it is help with shopping, dealing with authorities or communicating with family and friends to ensure a self-determined lifestyle in old age. To ensure that older people can also easily participate in digital offers, Tuesday, October 15th, at the Konz Care Center, Karthäuser Straße 157, 54329 Karthaus, An information event will take place. The day will be organized by the community nurse plus in cooperation with the “Digital Angel” project.

From 10 am to 12 pm The "Smartphone and Tablet" workshop will take place on the information day. Here, questions such as what an app and a user account are will be answered. Participants are welcome to bring their own smartphone or tablet. A digital expert will provide comprehensive answers to questions about online applications and new media.

From 2 to 4 pm A lecture will focus on the topic of electronic patient records (ePat) and e-prescriptions; two important innovations in the healthcare system that bring with them many advantages.

The Digital Angels project is aimed specifically at older online and offline users who want to deepen their digital knowledge. Older people are introduced to the safe use of digital applications in personal discussions or with the help of online formats. This helps them to overcome their fears and gain initial positive experiences. The focus is on recognizing the added value of digital offerings, learning basic knowledge and referring to existing offerings for older people.
