What is being done?
Work on the commuter bike route begins. This will make cycling safer for working commuters and everyday cyclists. In Konstantinstrasse, paving strips in the street are being removed and replaced with asphalt surfaces. In some places, so-called “Berlin cushions” are being installed to reduce speed.
Konstantinstraße will be closed to traffic in individual sections. The work will begin on November 12, 2024.
On November 22, 2024, Konstantinstraße will be completely closed for one day. The construction company is Köhler Strassenbau GmbH & Co.
When exactly will work be done where?
For the work, Konstantinstraße will initially be closed from 12 to 14 November from Bahnhofstraße to the junction with Goethestraße.
From November 15th to 18th, the section from Goethestraße to the entrance to the city library will be closed.
Next, from November 19th to 21st, the section from the entrance to the city library to Granastraße will be closed.
The work will end with the installation of an asphalt surface in the previously paved areas of the road. This will require a complete closure of Konstantinstraße on November 22, 2024.
How does this measure affect local residents?
The work on Konstantinstrasse will be carried out in four sections. Each section will be closed to traffic. The other sections are open to traffic.
On Friday, November 22nd, the street will be completely closed for one day. Please use other public parking spaces on this day.
