“Healthy in old age” event series 2024
After the success of the “Healthy in Old Age” series in previous years, there is a new edition this year. From March to May, events are offered on the topics of fall prevention, healthy eating, exercise and how to behave properly in extreme summer heat.
The series of events is organized by the community nurse Plus, the Konz nursing base and the Konz-Karthaus district management. Cooperation partners include the district's health promotion and prevention department and the RLP e.V. consumer advice center. Participation in the events is free of charge. However, prior registration is required.
The series of events starts in March with one Fall prevention seminar.
The “Fall Prevention” seminar is intended to convey how you can minimize the risk of falls in everyday life. At the beginning of the event, consequences, risks and possible preventive steps will be discussed in a lecture. The participants then learn about exercises such as balance, stability and mobility training in the practical part. These can be sustainably integrated into everyday life.
The seminar is aimed at seniors from the Trier-Saarburg district, caring relatives and anyone interested.
Participation is free of charge and occurs at your own risk.

Speaker: Birgit Backes, trainer for cardiac sports and orthopedic rehabilitation sports

The event is offered in cooperation with the “LebensgestAlter” project of the district’s Health Promotion and Prevention Department.
