Donations for painting the cemetery chapel in Nittel-Rehlingen

The cemetery chapel in Nittel-Rehlingen was last completely renovated in 1990. At that time, the roof was replaced and a coat of paint was applied. After such a long time, a new coat of paint was planned two years ago, but moisture had formed on the walls. This had prevented painting work from being carried out. For this reason, the local community had a dew point ventilation system installed at that time.

A further test of the moisture levels this month has now shown the desired result: the moisture on the walls has decreased. This means that painting work is now possible. In addition to a professional, monument-compliant coat of paint, the monument preservation authorities also recommend partial repairs to the plaster and crack repairs.

In addition to the moisture test, the building structure and the roof were checked this month. No work is required here. However, the painting will cost a lot of money. Due to the expected high costs, the local community of Nittel is asking for financial support from the public. Donations can be transferred to the Konz municipal treasury account:
