K 130: Expansion between Biebelhausen and the Wiltinger Bridge under full closure

K 130 - Expansion between Biebelhausen and the Wiltinger Bridge under full closure

The LBM informs:

Construction work for the renewal of the pavement between Biebelhausen and the L 138 along the K 130 is expected to begin on May 21, 2024 under full closure.

Due to the existing road width being too narrow and occupational health and safety regulations, the construction work must be carried out under full road closure. This will shorten the overall construction time and provide better quality conditions.

The full closure for road repairs must remain in place until mid/end of July 2024, weather permitting.

To ensure that the businesses located along the expansion route are accessible during the construction period, the project will be divided into four construction phases.

The diversion routes lead via Kanzem or Saarburg and are signposted locally.

For further information and details on the diversion route, please refer to the Mobility Atlas at the following link:

During the renovation work, the asphalt-bound road surface will be reinforced. Two new layers of asphalt will be built. This will increase the height of the road by a few centimeters. During the course of the expansion, the drainage facilities, such as the curb system including drainage channels, culverts and the road drains, will also be renewed. The total length of the expansion is around 1.792 km.

The cost of renovating the roadway is around 622,000 euros and will be borne by the Trier-Saarburg district. The district's share will be funded by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate to the tune of 77%.

LBM Trier already thanks the affected road users for their patience and understanding.
