“Well prepared for the summer heat”
Following the success of the “Healthy in Old Age” series in recent years, there is a new edition this year. From March to June, events will be offered on the topics of fall prevention, healthy eating, exercise and the right behavior in extreme summer heat.
The series of events is organized by the community nurse Plus, the Konz nursing base and the Konz-Karthaus district management. Cooperation partners include the district's health promotion and prevention department and the RLP e.V. consumer advice center. Participation in the events is free of charge. However, prior registration is required.
The next event will take place on April, 30th and deals with the right Behavior in extreme summer heat Summer is just around the corner and heat is a barely visible problem compared to the effects of the climate. As lovely as the warm summer months are, intense heat with little cooling at night over several days can be detrimental to the health of older people in particular.
Fortunately, there are some tips that can help you or your loved ones to maintain health and well-being even in hot temperatures. In this lecture, you will learn why heat can be harmful to your health, how heat-related disorders manifest themselves and, in particular, what you can do to prevent heat stress. The lecture is aimed at senior citizens. Participation is free of charge.
