For more than two years now, the Roscheider Hof open-air museum in Konz has had a barrier-free connection path to the Hunsrück houses. The popular museum has now received an award for this.

The “Accessibility tested” certification in the nationwide “Travel for all” project is valid until spring 2027. This is a cooperation project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection that aims to ensure everyone can participate in tourism and to anchor the ideal of barrier-free travel in the entire tourism management chain.
"It is important to us that the tourist highlights in Konz can also be experienced by people with disabilities," says Mayor Joachim Weber. "This strengthens our holiday region and is a sign of hospitality."
Stefanie Koch from Saar-Obermosel-Touristik adds: "There are numerous guests who rely on barrier-free offers of various kinds. Our goal is to enable them to enjoy their vacation with us in a more comfortable and carefree manner."
The Karthaus monastery and its barrier-free circular path are also certified as part of the “Travel for All” project. Both will be available to visitors again after the renovation work.
Other barrier-free offers in Konz include audio tours of the monastery and the open-air museum. A wheelchair bike with an electric motor enables people with walking disabilities to go on a bike tour along the Saar and Moselle. This project also received an award: it won against 45 competitors in the competition organized by the regional initiative "Fascination Mosel".
