Mayor presents prize to school class
Some students enthusiastically hop through the Konz city library, many want to borrow books, others take a seat in the seating area and read. The third grade of the Konz-Oberemmel elementary school is visiting the city library. At first the children don't even know why they went on the trip. Mayor Joachim Weber then reveals the surprise: “You have won a tour of the library and money for the class fund!”
The background: In the run-up to Christmas, the Konz City Library again offered the “Advent Calendar Stories” campaign. On every school day in the run-up to Christmas, teachers at primary schools were able to read stories with puzzles to the children in their class. Anyone who had solved all the puzzles and knew the answer word could fill out a card for the lottery pot.
One of the winners is the third class from Oberemmel. Mayor Joachim Weber presented the children with their prize and a certificate during their visit. And the Konz City Library team had prepared a varied program to promote reading and media education for the students.
