All information about the 74th Konzer Homeland and Wine Festival

The Konzer Homeland and Wine Festival is entering a new round. From 19 to 22 July 2024 The market square will once again be a meeting place for cozy get-togethers and happy celebrations. "I warmly invite you to try and enjoy excellent wines and sparkling wines from the region and culinary delicacies at the many stands," says Mayor Joachim Weber. "The program around the town hall offers every visitor plenty of entertainment and simply a good time with friends and acquaintances."
Live music with great bands is offered every day. On Friday the unplugged band "Schlappengas" will be there, party music will be provided by the band "Teamwork" on Saturday evening, on Sunday "Frank Rohles & Zentury XX" will heat things up and on Monday there will be a lot of variety when star tenor Thomas Kiessling takes to the stage with the Konzer musicians and the band "Fairground" will entertain the visitors with rock, pop, funk & soul. Newcomer bands will play on the stage behind administration building II and there will be a DJ night.
Other highlights of the program include the traditional presentation of the candidates for the Saar-Obermosel Wine Queen, the opening fireworks on Friday evening and the vintage car parade on Sunday morning.
The show dance group Rainbow, the dance school Born2Dance and a Zumbathon for participation will provide dance performances, with proceeds going to the "House for Children". The "Theater spectacle with the forest fairy" will entertain children aged 4 and over on Sunday on the main stage as a prelude to the family afternoon behind Administration Building II.
Numerous food stalls also leave nothing to be desired in terms of culinary delights. Whether it's fries, bratwurst or dishes in the gourmet zone - everyone will find something they like here.

Traffic changes before and during the holidays
To hold the festival, the entire market square, the parking spaces behind the town hall (administration building I) and the parking space behind administration building II will be closed to public traffic. The closures will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024.
From then on, the street "Am Markt" and the junction with "Brückenstraße" will also no longer be accessible to public traffic. Exception: During the construction of the tents, stalls and rides, residents will be able to access the street from/towards Schillerstraße via "Am Markt". Brückenstraße will remain closed due to the construction work taking place there.
Schillerstrasse (L 138) will be kept open for traffic as there are no suitable diversion options. The speed limit for both directions at the festival site will be 30 km/h.
Buses and parking
During the local and wine festival there will be additional bus service every day. The timetable will be published several times in the area of the festival grounds. (You can also find it here below). The buses arrive and depart from Granastrasse, Konz-Mitte bus station. The city asks you to take advantage of this offer, as there are restrictions on parking this year.
Due to renovation work in the Kaufland car park, the parking spaces there are generally free of charge, but limited. The car park is open to guests of the local and wine festival at the following times: Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from 6:05 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day, Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day. Please note: Vehicles CANNOT remain in the parking garage overnight until the next morning! Picking up the item the next day can be very costly.
Prohibition on bringing alcoholic beverages around the market square
During the festival, there is a ban on bringing alcoholic beverages and glass bottles into the area around the festival grounds. This applies not only to Schillerstrasse, but also to Saar-Mosel-Platz and the parking garage.
Administration opening hours
Due to the local and wine festival, the municipal administration and the citizens' office will be closed on Monday, July 22, 2024.
