Westconnect starts broadband expansion in Wawern
Westconnect GmbH brings fiber optic networks to Wawern. With immediate effect, the company is also expanding the fiber optic network in "Fiber To The Home" (FTTH) construction in this location in the Konz municipality. With the expansion, private households and businesses are future-proof: The new fiber optic network offers transmission rates of up to 1,000 megabits per second. The implementation of the measure was dependent on a pre-marketing quota. Due to the positive response from citizens and companies, Westconnect can set up the fiber optic network and connect the local community of Wawern to the fast data network.

“I am pleased that the expansion can now begin. A sustainable broadband supply in Wawern improves our quality of life in all areas of everyday life - whether in the home office or with online streaming. That is why it is indispensable for the further development of the local community," explains Mayor Karl-Peter Binz.
Christian Nathem, municipal manager at Westconnect partner Westenergie explains: “When expanding the high-speed Internet, we are not just limiting ourselves to the interests of the larger cities and communities, but are also looking at an area coverage in the entire supply area. We are happy to support the local community of Wawern and many other municipalities in order to further expand the digital performance of schools, business and private households".
