The city will receive around 1.73 million euros from the federal-state program “Social Cohesion - Social City” for further measures in the Karthaus area. The city will also receive a further 173,000 euros for the development of the city center from the “Inner City Impulse” model project.

Mayor Joachim Weber was pleased about the financial support. “Both programs are forward-looking for the city of Konz. The monastery building and the monastery environment in Karthaus will be further upgraded with the funds from the “Social Cohesion – Social City” program. The “inner city impulses” help to make the city of Konz more attractive and lively, for example with green spaces.”
Interior Minister Michael Ebling emphasized during his visit to the town hall: “The state has been supporting the “Social Cohesion – Social City” funding area in Karthaus together with the federal government since 2010 and has so far provided around six million euros. “With the funding from the “Inner City Impulse” model project, the city of Konz is planning to create a future concept for the future direction of the city center.”
For the implementation of the project, two days of action are planned, among other things, in order to give citizens and all local actors the opportunity to actively participate in the process.
As part of the meeting in the Konz town hall, Michael Ebling also entered the Golden Book of the city of Konz.
