233,000 euros for village renewal measures in Onsdorf
Interior Minister Michael Ebling presented the mayor of the local community of Onsdorf (Trier-Saarburg district), Klaus Fuchs, with a grant amounting to 233,000 euros from the Rhineland-Palatinate village renewal program. The redesign of the community center forecourt and renovation work on the facade of the community center are funded.
“The local community of Onsdorf has developed various measures as part of the village renewal concept. One of the central measures is the redesign of the forecourt of the community center, which will benefit from the funds now approved. In the future, the redesigned area will primarily serve as a meeting point for events in the community center, but can also alternatively be used as a parking area,” said Interior Minister Michael Ebling.
The community center is already regularly used for celebrations, for the local council and as an election office. By designing the forecourt into a meeting area, barrier-free access to the community center is also created. In addition, sealing measures will be carried out on the building and the facade will be given a new coat of paint.
Village renewal focuses primarily on projects in the town centers that give impetus to revitalize the town center or to keep it as the center of village life. This includes the renovation and new use of the building fabric as well as securing basic services.
In the 2023 funding year, a total of around 24 million euros will be available for Rhineland-Palatinate village renewal to support municipal and private projects in the town centers.
