Start free for the reading and reading summer 2023 in Konz
Conc, June 13, 2023
The "reading summer" has had a permanent place in the Konzer calendar of events for 15 years and is very well received by the children from the associated municipality. This year it will even be supplemented by a new campaign so that even more children can take part. Because during the "Reading Summer", a reading promotion campaign by the State Library Center, daycare children can have something read to them.
Registration cards have already been distributed through the schools and kindergartens and are also available in the library. 1,000 funny and exciting stories are waiting to be read and read aloud. Mayor Joachim Weber and District Administrator Stefan Metzdorf will give the starting signal for the campaign on July 10, 2023 in the Konz City Library.
And it's worth participating:
At the reading summer, all children and young people between the ages of 6 and 16 can become “reading monsters”. From the many detective, fantasy or horse stories, up to two books can be borrowed for two weeks. Anyone who has read at least three books will receive a certificate and a nice prize after the holidays. The children and young people can also fill out an evaluation card for each book they read and then hand it in to the library. Each card then takes part in the nationwide big raffle, where there are many more great prizes to be won.
The summer of reading aloud works in a similar way: Anyone who has three books read to them and hands in a picture they have drawn to the library will receive a certificate and a voucher for an ice cream. In addition, other nice prizes can be won in the nationwide raffle.
