May 11, 2023
The outer shell of the monastery of St. Bruno in Konz-Karthaus has been severely damaged in recent years. Weather-related dark stains and damage to plaster and stucco can be found in many places. So that the listed building will soon shine in new splendor, the renovation work on the facade is now starting and the windows are also being renewed. The scaffolding is already in place, local clubs are currently moving to replacement rooms outside the monastery and the last concert before the renovation took place at the beginning of the week in the fully occupied ballroom.

Work on the outer shell is expected to be completed later this year. After that, the other construction phases begin inside the monastery. Among other things, these go hand in hand with a new usage concept that is intended to fill the monastery with more life. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 2026. The costs of around 7.5 million euros are largely covered by funds from urban development funding.
