LBM: Conversion of the L138, L137 junction near Wiltingen
The State Office for Mobility (LBM) Trier announces that the expansion of the L138, L137 junction near Wiltingen will begin on Monday, June 5th, 2023.
The construction measure is a project of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate with a total investment volume of 723,000 euros.
The existing temporary solution for traffic routing will be dismantled, the bound superstructure layers will be renewed and the unbound superstructure layers will be partially replaced. Furthermore, dividing islands, green strips and hollows are newly laid out.
Existing footpaths will also be renewed and enhanced with crossing aids.
The contractor for the construction work is Clemens Baugesellschaft GmbH & Co. KG from Saarburg.
The construction project is divided into a total of three consecutive construction phases.
In construction phase 1, the lane coming from Saarburg in the direction of Wiltingen will be temporarily widened until around mid-June. This is necessary to ensure access to Wiltingen during the expansion with traffic being routed on one side. In this construction phase, the lane coming from Wiltingen will be passable with half-way traffic routing. The junction with the L137 in the direction of "Wiltinger Kupp" is free in this construction phase.
In construction phase 2, the junction area and the lane coming from Wiltingen will be renewed. The traffic routing will be changed for this purpose. The lane in the direction of Wiltingen remains passable with traffic being routed on one side, the junction with the L137 will be completely closed.
The L137 will be diverted via Wiltingen - Oberemmel - Kommlingen - Konz and vice versa. The diversion will be signposted on site.
After completion of the second construction phase around mid-August 2023, the widening set up in construction phase 1 will be dismantled and the remaining lanes in the direction of Wiltingen renewed. The traffic routing is analogous to construction phase 1.
For more information and details on the detour route, please see the Mobility Atlas RLP at verkehr.rlp.de .
Road users (in particular through traffic) are asked to take the signposted detour.
The overall execution is expected to last until the beginning of September 2023.
Those involved in the expansion would like to thank the road users affected for their patience and understanding.
