Renaturation of the Mannesbach: second construction phase begins

The renaturation of the Mannebach is entering the next phase. Next Monday 5 September 2022 , work begins in the area outside of Tawern, from Talbachhütte in the direction of Mannebach. They should be completed this year.

The measure has been running in stages since 2019. Because the creek was and still is in part severely hampered in its natural water development by straightening and severe erosion.

The aim of the renaturation is to significantly improve the ecological function, the water quality and the water retention. After the measure, the stream no longer flows in notched streams. Instead, the shore areas are flattened and there are areas for water to overflow during heavy rain and other flood situations.

In addition, a play area for children was created at the first construction phase of the Mannebach in Tawern.
