Public announcement of the Rhineland-Palatinate noise mapping 2022 and the establishment of a noise action plan as an overall plan for Rhineland-Palatinate
The Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for the Environment informs you in accordance with the applicable legal requirements under the EU Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EG, implemented in German law by §§ 47a to f of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Ordinance on Noise Mapping - 34th BImSchV about the completed noise mapping LK-2022 and gives you the opportunity to participate in the preparation of the Rhineland-Palatinate noise action plan.
Responsibility for noise reduction planning (noise mapping and noise action planning) has so far been with the municipalities and, with the exception of the conurbations of Mainz, Koblenz and Ludwigshafen, has been transferred to the State Office for the Environment. For the main federal railway lines, the responsibility of the State Office for the Environment in noise action planning is limited to measures outside federal sovereignty.
You can find the results of the 2022 noise mapping at www.ambient noise.rlp.de see.
The preparation of the first state-wide noise action plan for Rhineland-Palatinate includes the statutory review of existing municipal noise action plans and their transfer into an overall plan (the above three metropolitan areas carry out the respective noise action plan on their own responsibility and will therefore not be included in the overall plan).
With this first phase of public participation, the preparation of the state-wide noise action plan begins. As part of the participation, you can submit your ideas and suggestions up to and including February 28, 2023.
For your comments, you can use the online participation platform, which you can access via https://www.online-beteiligung.org/rheinland-pfalz/ and reach the above website.
There you also have access to the existing municipal noise action plans.
You can also submit your statement by email (Laermaktionsplanung@lfu.rlp.de) or by post (postal address: State Office for the Environment, Unit 26, Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße 7, 55116 Mainz).
It is noted that not in time, ie after 02/28/2023 comments submitted can be disregarded when drafting the noise action plan.
For planning noise prevention, quiet areas should be identified, designated and protected as part of the noise action plan.
We will be publishing specialist information on this shortly.
