Konz Music Festival starts on September 9th, 2022 with ten top-class concerts

On Friday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m., the fourth edition of the 'Konz Music Festival', which is now nationally known, starts. Members of the Kammerata Luxembourg and Grammy nominé Joseph Moog on the piano open a ten-day series of highly varied concerts in the Greater Region in the ballroom of the St. Bruno Monastery in Konz.
The following day, the German State Philharmonic, with chief conductor Michael Francis, will perform the chamber version of Gustav Mahler's world-famous 7th Symphony in the St. Johann monastery church under the patronage of the Trier-Saarburg district administrator. Three events will follow on Sunday, September 11th: At 12:00 noon, the Cantzheim Winery will be drawing visitors to Kanzem for the 'Summer Fantasy' with Tatjana Ruhland, solo flutist of the SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart and her musical partner Ronith Mues on the harp. At 5:00 p.m., the Konz Music Festival, in cooperation with the International Organ Concerts Konz, on the occasion of their 10th anniversary, invites you to a brilliant 'organ magic' with Echo prize winner Christian Schmitt in the church of St. Nikolaus after Konz. In the evening at 7:00 p.m., violinist Franziska will perform Hölscher, exceptional horn player Felix Klieser and festival director Joseph Moog at the piano in Haus Beda in Bitburg with works by Beethoven, Liszt, Ravel and Brahms as a trio.
The lecturers of the master academy of the Konz Music Festival undertake a 'pilgrimage in a quartet' on Wednesday, September 14th. at 7:00 p.m., when the musical event moves to the Rochuskapelle in Nittel. Violinist Elisabeth Perry (England), violist Josef Kluson (Czech Republic), cellist Niall Brown (Scotland) and pianist Isabelle Trüb (Switzerland) enchant the audience with Mozart and Dvorak.
The next day, at 5:00 p.m., the young, international participants in the master academy have the opportunity to present themselves as part of the family concert 'Spotlight Young Musicians' in the ballroom of the St. Bruno Monastery. The stars of tomorrow perform in various formations, from duos to quintets, and perform chamber music highlights.
The up-and-coming talents will soar to the dizzy heights of the Contemporaneum in Oberbillig on Friday, September 16th. at 19:00h. A surprise program awaits the guests in front of a unique backdrop. On Saturday, September 17th At 7:00 p.m. it will be symphonic, because the Saarland State Youth Orchestra will bring a large-scale romantic program with Eastern European masterpieces to the Fahl tennis hall in Konz: Mussorgsky and Dvorak's Ninth, as well as the legendary Second Piano Concerto by Rachmaninoff with soloist Joseph Moog, will be heard on this historic evening and go down in the history books as part of this nationwide first classical concert in a tennis hall.
A crowning finale should not be missing - and Grammy award winner Gast Waltzing on the trumpet and his trio fill the wine cellar of the noble Van Volxem winery with swing and drive. In addition, restaurateur Jörg Linden offers a multi-course flying dinner, which is accompanied by a selection of four award-winning house wines.
