Stories are being read aloud again in the city library of Konz

On Friday, November 18, 2022, the Konz City Library is organizing this year's nationwide reading day with the annual motto "Unique together". A reading and creative activity for children from 5 to 9 years is offered with the storyteller Angelika Zonker. The event starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Registration is free. A maximum of 12 children can take part, so prior registration is essential. (tel: 06501 7888)

The Nationwide Reading Day, an initiative of DIE ZEIT, the Deutsche Bahn Foundation and the Reading Foundation, sets a public example for the importance of reading aloud and has established itself as the most important reading festival in Germany.

Reading aloud together not only connects and creates closeness - it is also the most important prerequisite for learning to read well yourself and thus the key to access to education and professional success.

This year's motto "Unique together" focuses not only on the community but also on the individuality of the individual. Because respectful coexistence and mutual appreciation are important components of a democratic society.
