"Is our prosperity running out of "juice"? - Municipal and global perspectives of the energy transition"
The "big" global crises are getting closer and closer to the reality of life "on site" and the personal life of each and every individual. That was already the case during the COVID 19 pandemic, and the climate and environmental crisis also affects us all. People are currently being driven by the “energy crisis”: what costs will I have to face now? What can I still afford in the coming winter? And once the "price hype" should be over, the question remains as to how the energy supply will look in the future?
The last events of the Politische Salon Konz dealt with the perspectives of peace policy in view of the war in Ukraine and with the question of whether and how "democracy" can overcome the current challenges (cf. www.Politischer-Salon-Konz.de). The next event of the Politische Salon Konz on November 27th, 2022 will deal more specifically with the question, "Is our prosperity running out of "juice"? - Municipal and global perspectives of the energy transition" - and not (only) with regard to the general one situation in Germany and elsewhere, but also specifically about opportunities and challenges "on site" and in the region. What options are there for local politics and what can each and every individual do to influence further development?
The starting point is a short introduction by Mr. R. Schöller, an expert in this field with detailed knowledge of the regional situation. The two-hour event, this time in the “Wasserliescher Hof” restaurant in Wasserliesch, starts at 11 a.m. as always. Afterwards there is again the opportunity to let it end in an informal atmosphere with a glass of wine, juice or sparkling water. The organizing committee of the Politische Salon will also give a brief overview of the results of its own survey.
Since 2018, the Politischer Salon Konz project has been based on a non-partisan initiative by individual citizens in the Konz association of municipalities (cf. www.Politischer-Salon-Konz.de ) and is supported by the Foundation Collaboration ( www.mitarbeit.de ) and through the partnership for democracy in the Konz municipality (www.demokratie-leben-konz.de), funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program "Live Democracy!".
