Alfred Weinandy becomes the new arbitrator for VG Konz

There are always arguments - for example because the hedge on the neighboring property has grown too high or the car is damaged when parking. Especially when there are disputes in everyday life with neighbors or acquaintances, the atmosphere can quickly become so tense that those involved can no longer express themselves in peace. But why run straight to court? Arbitrators can help to settle this dispute: they discuss the situation with the parties involved in a calm conversation.
In the past five years, the former mayor of Kanzem, Günter Frentzen, has taken on this task for the local communities in the VG Konz. Mayor Joachim Weber has now said goodbye to him after the regular term of office and welcomed his successor.

Alfred Weinandy will now be doing the honorary post for the next five years. He is known to many as a board member of the sports club Konz. Until his retirement, he was head of the regional office for water management, waste management and soil protection of the Structure and Approval Directorate North (SGD) in Trier.
Günter Frentzen looks back on his time as an arbitrator: "It is often exhausting to conduct a meditation conversation, because you need a lot of patience and you have to be constantly attentive. But I always had a very good feeling when the conversation was successful and I was actually able to help find an agreement.”
Alfred Weinandy is looking forward to his new task: "I have respect for it, but I believe that it is a worthwhile task to put yourself in the position of those who are fighting and to get them to approach each other. In addition, I was always curious, I like breaking new ground and I would also like to use my retirement sensibly.”
VG Mayor Joachim Weber congratulated and thanked both for their commitment. “Arbitrators are committed to the legal peace of the citizens. This is a complex task that requires tact and sovereignty and I am glad that such competent and experienced people have taken on this task.”
