Process of firewood auction/allocation in the forest district

Due to the high demand for firewood in the past season, in 2022/2023 the firewood in the Saarburg - Tobiashaus forest district will be awarded in the form of an auction. Due to the many queries, we would like to provide you with further information at this point.

An auction date is planned for each municipality as soon as the wood has been made available. Depending on the weather, this can last until spring 2023. The auction date of the respective municipality will then be announced in good time in the Konzer Rundschau and on the homepage of the Saarburg Forestry Office

In order to ensure a basic supply of firewood, each participant can only 1 bid on piles. If there are stacks of firewood left after the first round and everyone present was able to bid for a stack, the remaining stacks can be distributed among the participants; again 1 pile/household.

At the beginning, only citizens of the respective municipality can participate in the award.

The procedure is intended to prevent a price increase and to supply as many interested parties as possible.
