Mona Ameziane on June 24, 2022 in Karthaus Monastery - The well-known author and radio presenter reads from her book "Auf Basidis Dach"
Conc, May 10, 2022
In the neighboring federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the radio presenter is a popular book expert. Mona Ameziane inspires many young people to read with the book program "Stories" on WDR 1Live, but she has also written a book herself. "Auf Basidis Dach" quickly landed on the bestseller lists and on June 24, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. the author will read from it in the ballroom of the St. Bruno monastery in Konz-Karthaus . The city of Konz cordially invites you to the reading.
In "On Basidi's Roof" Mona Ameziane talks about the Moroccan part of her family, about growing up between two cultures that seem to separate more than a three-hour flight, about adventurous taxi rides through the Atlas Mountains and about an empty roof terrace full of memories. Apart from a school year in Agadir, the journalist spent her childhood and youth in the Ruhr area. On her numerous trips to Morocco, she can't shake the feeling of being just a tourist. How much of her Moroccan heritage is she?
The search takes her to her grandparents' house in Fes, to Agadir, where she got to know the richest side of the country, and to remote villages where people only shrug their shoulders in bewilderment at the word "Europe".
This project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program "Live Democracy!".
