"Your donation will be used to make the war victims of the past visible and at the same time to promote initiatives for a common and peaceful future," said Malu Dreyer, Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to the Volksbund, it maintains more than 2.8 million graves in Europe, works with young people and thus builds bridges between former enemies. However, it has not yet been possible to create a dignified resting place for every fallen soldier. Because street collections could hardly be carried out in the past year and a half, the Volksbund is asking for donations this year.
