The basic features of the existing and intended urban development and land use are presented in the land use plan for the entire municipal area. The land use plan provides information on areas that can generally be built on and those that cannot be built on. The zoning plan does not yet create building rights, it forms the basis and framework for the development plan. The land use plan defines the municipal development goals and incorporates the goals of state and regional planning as well as nature conservation.

The land use plan of the community of Konz became binding on 06/09/2004.

It was updated for the entire VG in some subject areas such as "Renewable energies - wind power".
