Overall update of the retail concept
The city of Konz has a city-wide retail concept that was approved by the city council of Konz in 2011. Since the creation of the retail concept in 2011, changes have taken place in the Group's retail landscape. In addition, various retail projects and settlement requests in the city area are discussed. However, it is not only the Group's retail landscape that has changed, but also the general framework. This includes in particular the structural change in the retail trade as well as changes due to case law, e.g. on requirements for central supply areas or for retail management.
The overall update of the retail concept of the city of Konz should show retail-specific development requirements and limits as well as develop strategies based on this for the future control and development of retail in Konz in general and in particular the central supply areas in particular. Above all, the urban planning objectives of the city of Konz, such as securing and strengthening the central supply areas (especially the Konz city center) and securing and further developing a functional basic supply situation play an important role.
Renewed public participation in the overall update
At the city council meeting on February 15, 2022, the city of Konz passed the resolution to involve the authorities and public bodies and the public again in the overall update of the retail concept of the city of Konz.
The formal public participation of the retail concept of the city of Konz takes place in the period from
08/01/2022 to 09/02/2022
in the form of a display at the municipal administration. The interested public has the opportunity to comment on the planned plans and to make suggestions. At the same time, the authorities and other public bodies are involved in accordance with Section 4 (2) of the Building Code.
The draft of the retail concept for the city of Konz is available for everyone to see at the building authority of the Konz municipal administration, Am Markt 11, 54329 Konz, administration building II, room 81. The general office hours are: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Appointments can also be made by telephone, contact Ms. Reichert 83-180 or Mr. Queins 83-181. Statements can be submitted in writing or for the record during the period. Statements that are not submitted in a timely manner can be disregarded in the decision-making process on updating the retail concept of the city of Konz.
